Meeting minutes from last meeting:

Old Business:

·         MSTIP Letter

o   We have asked Linda Gray to provide us with 30 minutes on the CCI meeting agenda in January. Linda has suggested that each CPO develop a similar committee and that we coordinate activities. Virginia has proposed that we prepare a newsletter article or the CPO newsletters.

o   According to Linda Gray, the issue of “fragmented sidewalks” is already on the county DLUT work plan but is low on priority – i.e. missed the cut last time major transportation issues where ranked circa 2005.

o   Still playing phone tag with Kathryn Harrington. Virginia has suggested that Metro send a representative who is responsible for trails/connectivity to the next meeting. We will request that the representative discuss how stimulus money allocated for bicycle and trail development can be allocated to CPO-1.

o   Hal Ballard, Director of the Washington County Bicycle Transportation Coalition, has agreed to endorse the letter.

o   James T. is attempting outreach to Cedar Miler’s group to obtain their endorsement.

·         Website:

o   Virginia has sent out a list of suggested sections for expanding the CPO-1 Connections section of the CPO-1 website.

o   Members are encouraged to provide ideas/photos etc.

·         Outstanding items:

o   Health Impact Assessment Mentor Program follow up

o   Letter to Marshall Street neighbors

New Business:

·         Timberland Trail Appeal

o   Jeffrey Jensen the property owner immediately north of the trail connection at the south end of 114th Avenue has appealed the decision [to develop the trail].  The motive is not entirely clear based on the appeal documents.

·         Connectivity between Highway 26 bike/ped path (on North side of 26 between Skyline and Camelot Court) and 82nd Avenue and Barnes Road.

o   Kirke and Kathi Johnson will map out connectivity options, identify routes across private property, identify jurisdictional boundaries and report back to the committee at the next meeting

·         Community Outreach

o   Ideas to expand group membership and increase community awareness were discussed briefly. This topic will be on the next agenda. Please submit ideas for discussion.

·         acitybychoice.org

o   Virginia pointed out the article in the December edition of the Cedar Mill News about a group of citizens that have formed to investigate the incorporation of a city North of the Sunset Highway. See: http://www.acitybychoice.org/ for more information. Virginia will track this groups actions and determine if/when the committee will get involved.
